Wells Fargo ships jobs overseas

A recent Bloomberg article reported that in an effort to trim more than $1.7 billion in quarterly expenses, the financial lender Wells Fargo & Co may be looking to send jobs overseas to India and the Philippines. While the company already has several employees abroad, a Wells Fargo representative said that it planned an additional “streamlining of some operations to the most cost-effective locations” including its customer service roles.

At River City Bank, not only does our balance sheet outperform those of most financial institutions nationwide (we reported our second most profitable year in the history of the bank in 2011), we are committed to investing in our community by hiring local talent. Our belief is that by hiring local, we are providing jobs to the Sacramento community, which in turn stimulates the region’s economy.  It’s a win, win for all parties involved.
