Steve Fleming

Frequent Bankroll contributor Steve Fleming is also River City Bank’s President and CEO. Steve is often noted for being head and shoulders above his peers—and at 6’1”, this helps him on the basketball court, where he’s an avid competitor in his non-banking time. Steve is also host of the award-winning “Ask Steve” YouTube video series, yet another venue in which he offers his candid insights about issues that affect you and your business.  

Steve joined River City Bank in 2008 and brings 30 years of banking and finance experience to his leadership role. He graduated with honors from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and from the University of California, Berkeley with an MBA concentrating in Finance, Accounting and Real Estate. After college, Steve parlayed his educational achievements into a successful banking career, including serving as a senior executive with Bank of America, President and CEO of National Bank of the Redwoods, and co-founder and CEO of Presidio Bank in San Francisco. Over the past three decades, Steve has had the pleasure of working throughout Northern California, as well as London, England.  

Steve is a board member of Sacramento Child Advocates and the Kelly Foundation, serves on the advisory board for Comstock’s Magazine, is the Program Director for the Sacramento chapter of Lambda Alpha, an international land economics society, a visiting assistant professor at UCD’s Graduate School of Management and is a member of the Sacramento Rotary Club. When he’s not working, shooting hoops, playing golf or running (he’s completed 3 marathons), Steve spends his spare time with his wife and three children.
